Shape-Note singing – usually from the Sacred Harp song book – is an American traditional style of four-part, a cappella, social and spiritual, community-based singing. We sing weekly, monthly, and annually in ten communities in or bordering Vermont. See the directory of Singings for details. Why do we sing this music? See the Home/About section for a brief response. Enjoy using the Resources and Media listed here. We hope to meet and sing with you soon!
Like the pot-holed, frost-heaved roads of Vermont, this page is UNDER CONSTRUCTION. It replaces the now-defunct vtshapenotesingers.com. At this formative stage, any suggestions, corrections, or comments you can offer would be appreciated. Thank you, David Rosenberg, MiddleburyShapeNote@gmail.com.
